Volunteer to Help the Honor Flight

Our organization runs on volunteer power. It costs a lot of money to put a flight together, so the more volunteer help we get the faster we'll raise money for our next flight.

Guardians and VeteransBe a Guardian

Guardians are volunteers who go on the Honor Flight in order to assist the veterans throughout the day. If you go to our Photo section you'll quickly notice that the veterans from Siouxland wore blue shirts. The folk in white shirts were Guardians for that flight. (Red shirts are for the people who are running the show.) You can see that we had roughly one Guardian for every three veterans.

Guardians help the veterans with the paperwork, boarding passes, meals, assisting with mobility issues, etc. They are a vital part of the mission. As volunteers, Guardians DO pay their own way ($500).

If you'd like to be a Guardian on a flight from another city, please download the application below and return it to our national Honor Flight organization (300 E. Auburn Avenue, Springfield, OH 45505-4703). Please do NOT give the application to us here in Sioux City -- we've had our last flight.

You may download an application HERE.
